Cookie Policy

The short version

This website sets no analytics cookies and no social media cookies. On almost every page, the only cookies set when it opens are two strictly necessary ones that make the site work.

One advertising tool, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, is available on the site but is switched off until you accept it in the banner that appears on your first visit. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, it never loads. You can change your answer at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page.

There is one further exception. Our appointments page carries a booking calendar run by Cliniko, and that calendar loads as soon as the page opens. Cliniko receives your IP address and can set its own cookies from that moment, whether or not you go on to book. Every other page on this site contacts nobody, unless you have accepted the Meta Pixel.

If you would rather not involve Cliniko at all, you can still reach us by the enquiry form further down that same page, or by telephone. Neither involves any third party.

The map on our contact page behaves differently again: it loads only if you press a button.

The Meta Pixel

We advertise the clinic on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel is how we learn whether those adverts bring anyone to this website. When it is running, it sends Meta a record of the pages you view here, along with your IP address and the cookies above. Meta may combine that with what it already knows about you if you have a Facebook or Instagram account, under the Meta privacy policy. Meta is a United States company, so that information leaves the European Economic Area.

Because some pages on this site describe particular scans, the pages you view could suggest something about your health. That is why we do not load the Pixel until you have said yes. It does nothing until you press Accept, and if you press Decline it stays off. Declining does not affect the site in any way: every page, the enquiry form and the booking calendar work exactly the same.

To withdraw consent you have already given, choose Cookie settings in the footer and press Decline. The Pixel stops immediately on the page you are on and will not load again. To remove cookies Meta has already set, delete them through your browser settings.

The map on our contact page

Our contact page can show a Google map. It is not loaded when the page opens. You have to click Load the map first, and until you do, Google receives nothing: not your IP address, not a cookie, nothing.

If you do click it, Google will set its own cookies and receive your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. You can avoid this entirely by using the plain directions link beside the button instead.

The booking calendar

Appointments are booked through Cliniko, the practice management system the clinic uses to run its diary. Unlike the map, the calendar loads automatically when our appointments page opens, so that you can pick a time without an extra step.

This means that simply opening that page shares your IP address with Cliniko and allows Cliniko to set cookies in your browser. That happens whether or not you go on to make a booking. It does not happen anywhere else on this website.

If you do book, the details you type into the calendar, including which scan you are booking and when, are held by Cliniko as well as by us. Their handling of that information is covered by the Cliniko privacy policy. Our account is on Cliniko's European Union data region. Cliniko is run by an Australian company, and our privacy policy explains what that means for access from outside the EEA.

You never have to use the calendar. The enquiry form lower down the same page and the clinic telephone number both reach us directly, with no third party involved. If you would prefer that, use one of those instead, or block Cliniko in your browser or with a content blocker before opening the appointments page.

[TO CONFIRM] Two points for the clinic's solicitor. First, because the calendar loads without being asked for, whether its cookies count as strictly necessary is a judgement call: if they do not, the calendar must go behind the same consent banner as the Meta Pixel before launch (the code supports this: set CLINIKO_CONSENT_GATE=true). Second, Cliniko's EU Data Processing Addendum must be signed and the physical location of the EU region confirmed, because appointment details for a diagnostic scan are health data.

What we deliberately do not use

• No Google Analytics or other website analytics.
• No advertising or remarketing tools other than the Meta Pixel described above, and that only with your consent.
• No Google Fonts or other externally hosted fonts. All typefaces load from your own device.
• No embedded social media feeds.

[TO CONFIRM] For the clinic's solicitor: the Meta Pixel is gated behind an Accept/Decline banner with both options given equal weight, and does not load until accepted. Please confirm the banner and the wording of this section meet Data Protection Commission guidance, and that the privacy policy's description of Meta as a recipient is sufficient. If the clinic later adds Google Analytics or Google Ads, they must go behind the same banner and this page must be updated first.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the two strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent the appointment enquiry form from working, so please phone the clinic instead if you choose to do that. Blocking Meta's cookies has no effect on the site.
